MLB Power Rankings: Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves setting the pace

Two and a half months into the 2023 MLB season, the cream is starting to rise to the top. Teams are starting to separate themselves as contenders or pretenders, while others are stuck in the middle of which category they fall under.

MLB power rankings: Rays and Braves still setting the standard in 2023

The Tampa Bay Rays have set the standard from the opening weekend as the league’s best team, while upstart teams like the Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and Arizona Diamondbacks have shown that they are going to be tough teams to play against this season, not being the pushovers they have in previous seasons.

Stuck in the middle right now are some teams like the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Minnesota Twins, while teams like the San Diego Padres and New York Mets have been big disappointments. The Yankees are dealing with a big injury to star Aaron Judge, and the Red Sox have pitching problems with Chris Sale out until at least August. The Padres and Mets have both dealt with injuries and been inconsistent from the beginning of the season with rosters expected to contend for at least a playoff berth.

With that said, let’s take a look at the latest MLB power rankings.
